Got To Make A New Plan.

© 2008 Gary Eisenbraun.

Runnin’ round in circles,
thought it would never change.
String it out a little longer,
‘til I had to turn the page.
Thought I could wear you down,
you’d see things my way.
Now that you’re gone,
there’s nothing more I can say.

Thought I’d get it easy,
it’d would fall right into place.
A little sooner than I’d planned,
you cut right to the chase.
Never get the glory,
only a chance to start again.
I’ve had enough of these revisions,
I’m wishing they would end.

(chorus)
I’m on the wrong side,
waiting for the tide to turn.
Playing with your fire,
I knew that I’d get burned.
You don’t make it easy
to try to understand.
I’m in your desert
and I’ve got to make a new plan.

A little lazy
to make it all work out.
You plant the seeds
that leads onto my doubts.
Another escapade
that never goes nowhere.
To see your face again
is more than I can bear.

(chorus)

Giving up on this façade,
it ain’t worth my time.
It’s time to look ahead,
instead you look behind.
It couldn’t last forever,
before you start to loose touch.
To take it all away,
it don’t matter very much.

(chorus)
