Waiting For A New World.

© 2008 Gary Eisenbraun.

In this world it’s
harder than it has to be.
Only opinions of how
they think you really feel.
Pulled in directions,
to what they say is best.
Is it the right way?
Well, all they got’s a guess.
Where did I come from?
To make me who I am?
Sometimes the game
is too hard
to even understand.
And I fill my time
with elements of fear.
Chaos and dreams
are the feelings I hold dear.

(chorus)
I wake and I dream,
through the passage of time.
I watch in the shadows
as the blind lead the blind.
If it’s all that I know,
then I need a new road for me.
But it is all gone. I’m waiting,
for a new world to come along.

I’d like to see myself
through someone else’s eyes.
Then my intentions wouldn’t
be such a surprise.
Once again,
the sun sets in the west.
And, for an innocent dream,
I try to do my best
to separate the silver
from what’s within the stones.
Leads to a path that’ll keep you all alone.

(chorus)

What would you give up
to live a hero’s role?
Even if it cost you,
to sell out your own soul?
We all have our different take
on what is free.
What is your living end,
don’t mean nothing to me.
Maybe this new world
will teach us to respect
all the differences
we seem to neglect.
‘Cause if we can’t find
a brand new way to be...
all will be lost.

All will be lost.
