My Heart Breaks Differently.

© 2009/2015 Gary Eisenbraun.

I try my best to live in the here and now,
but sometimes the past is stronger somehow.
If there's a future within your silhouette,
I'll never know (because you take all you can get).

You must know somethin' that I don't know.
Your look tells me that I've got no control.
With a wave of your hand I can see,
that my heart breaks differently.

It's frustrating when you've done everything you can do.
The bad position that constantly you put me through.
A fortune hunter ran in fear outside of the room.
THAT tells me that better times are coming soon.

I get a feeling as I walk out the door:
am I the only one who's wanting more?
Some people seem like they're better off.
I could say that I have had enough.
Then I get drawn back in.
That's how every day begins.

It ain't easy to have actions match words,
'cause you said the craziest thing I've ever heard.
Sometimes I wonder just how you can sustain.
You should go back to the place that you came.

Take me down to the underground
where no one seems to care.
There is no right or wrong,
no judgement in the air.
Welcome to the world
where there's ritual to pain.
Once you get locked inside,
you'll never be the same.

Next song: Got Lucky.
